Conveniently located in Uptown Charlotte just 7 miles from Charlotte Douglas International Airport, the Charlotte Convention Center is the city’s premier meeting and convention space. Opened in 1995, the 550,000-square-foot Charlotte Convention Center is located across the street from the 700-room Westin Hotel and is also connected to the NASCAR Hall of Fame via an overstreet walkway. It currently features 280,000 square feet of exhibit hall space and 126,500 square feet of meeting room and ballroom space, including the 35,000-square-foot Richardson Ballroom and the 40,000-square-foot Crown Ballroom. The facility also features complimentary Wi-Fi service on the meeting level with a 768kbps upload/download speed and with limited density based on number of devices. Beginning in spring 2019, the facility will undergo a $110 million expansion that is slated for completion in spring 2021. The expansion will add approximately 50,000 square feet of breakout meeting rooms and pre-function space, allowing up to 54 individual breakout sessions at one time that can accommodate 50 to 600 people theater-style with the flexibility to create a 10,000-square-foot space. It will also add an overstreet pedestrian walkway to The Westin Charlotte, two new hotels that are part of the Crescent Communities mixed-use development, and the LYNX Blue Line light rail Stonewall Station, which provides access to abundant dining, retail and nightlife.

Duke Energy CenterDuke Energy Center -SOLD OUT-

Maximum: 20 Participants per tour (tour times: 1:00 p.m. / 1:30 p.m. / 2:00 p.m. / 2:30 p.m.) **

Towering 51 stories above grade, the Duke Energy Center is the crown jewel of Charlotte’s most sophisticated arts district. The 1.5 million square foot triple LEED Platinum-certified office tower anchors Wells Fargo’s Cultural Campus. The tower's form symbolizes a progressive yet precise crystalline image. Reaching into the sky, the tower's chiseled top culminates in a dramatic sky window with panoramic views of the Charlotte skyline and city sporting venues.

Platinum level, LEED certifications for CS, EBOM and 81% office tenant CI, attests to industry-shaping measures such as harvesting/reclaiming rain water, ground water and HVAC condensate. A park like green roof reduces storm water runoff and alleviates the heat island effect. Daylight harvesting blinds move with the angle of the sun to reflect light deeper into the interior and coupled with day-lighting glass, provides increased natural light. Continual air monitoring maintains proper oxygen/CO2 levels by drawing in precise amounts of fresh air. Utilizing an intelligent building network to monitor, control and analyze the sophisticated building systems made the Duke Energy Center 2010’s Smartest Building in America.

**This tour is best suited for smaller groups for more participant interaction. There are (4) separate tours of 20 persons, each tour is about 1.5 hours. Participants of this tour should meet 20 minutes prior to the tour time in the registration area of the Charlotte Convention Center.
